With the recent announcement from The Grenada Sailing Association (GSA) proudly participating with two junior sailors, Azalia Renaud and Kishon Bruno, at the 2025 Pan Am Junior Games in Asunción, Paraguay.
Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina is delighted to help fundraise for this magnificent achievement helping solidify the sailing heritage and grass roots support for sailing from Grenada.

Both sailors were selected from the Petite Calivigny Yacht Club/Woburn Wind Warriors Junior Sailing Program, which has been part of the Grenada Olympic Committee’s Pan Am Preparation Programme since 2022. Active both as competitors and youth coaches, Azalia and Kishon exemplify the commitment to growing the sport of sailing in Grenada.

Zara Tremlett, General Manager at Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina, commented:
“We are incredibly proud to support Azalia and Kishon on their journey to the Pan Am Junior Games. At Port Louis Marina, we are committed to nurturing Grenada’s next generation of sailors and ensuring they have the opportunities, resources, and encouragement to compete at the highest level. Watching these young sailors represent our island internationally is a true inspiration, and we look forward to supporting their continued success.”
The fundraising provides much-needed assistance for the sailors’ travel, accommodation, sailing kit, and transport logistics for the Games.
In preparation for the Games, the sailors joined with other Caribbean nations at two training camps—one in the Bahamas and one in St. Vincent—strengthening their racing skills and international experience while building vital regional collaboration. These efforts built on lessons learned from Grenada’s representation at the World Sailing Youth Championships in Italy last year.

The training camp in the Bahamas was led by Trinidadian Olympian Coach Andrew Lewis, who also guided the team throughout the Games. Support in Paraguay came from the Grenada Olympic Committee and Barbados Team Manager, Penny McIntyre, with a wider Caribbean contingent including sailors from St Vincent, Barbados, Trinidad, Antigua, and the Bahamas.
Facing their first international regatta, Azalia and Kishon found conditions challenging, with light winds across five races. Azalia placed 19th in the ILCA 6 class and Kishon placed 18th in the ILCA 7 class. Coach Lewis praised their progress, noting that “there is still so much more potential waiting to be unlocked.” Kishon has since been invited to the Caribbean Dinghy Championships in Antigua this October. Meanwhile, Azalia continues to develop her dual role as both sailor and coach, as well as serving as Race Committee Lead at Grenada Sailing Week and other regional events.

Coach Lewis further applauded the unity of the Caribbean team, saying:
“From a teamwork point of view, this has been one of the best experiences of my life. You were truly a 10 out of 10 in the way you worked together, supported one another, and balanced so many moving parts. It was admirable, inspiring, and an incredible success.”
The GSA extends its thanks to the many individuals, companies, and organisations who made this journey possible, including the Grenada Olympic Committee, coaches Andrew Lewis (Trinidad), Niels Broekhuizen (Bahamas), Kristoff Stuven (Trinidad), and Noah Bullen (Grenada), Team Manager Penny McIntyre (Barbados), the St Vincent Sailing Association, and Rob Holden of World Sailing.
